Meet The Artist: 2019
I was tagged for that "Meet the Artist" meme.
This was initially a sketch on the first page of my sketchbook, but since I was lacking a proper official-looking image introducing me I figured I should do a full digital illustration of this.
It discussed my likes, dislikes, and the contents that I regularly carry in my bag. Other than the floral pattern used here all of the items are completely hand illustrated. The outfit is one I actually wear regularly.
For this illustration, I wanted to focus on lighting and colors. Not sure if I managed to do what I wanted with it. The longest time was spent on the background and the text. I am a complete novice at typography and enlisted the help of some experts to get it right. The other difficult part was getting the sketch to look like me. The final version definitely looks closer to me (on a good day where I dress to the nines and put on make-up, that is) than the sketch.
The gallery features: the original sketch, some work in progress images, test typesetting layouts, and some work in progress close-ups of the props from my bag.
Programs Used; Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop CS6
Fonts Used: Cardinal, King Lionel, Sweet Gentle from dafont.com
